A New Beginning

‘My unfailing love for you will not be shaken.’ Isaiah 54:10 NIV

After the divorce, her teenage daughter became increasingly rebellious. It culminated one night when the police called to ask her to come to the station and pick up her daughter, because she'd been arrested for drink driving.

Not a word was spoken between them until the next afternoon, when mum broke the tension by giving her daughter a little gift-wrapped box. Nonchalantly the girl opened it and found a small rock. Rolling her eyes she asked, ‘What’s this?’

Her mum said, ‘Here’s the card.’

She took the card from her mother's hand, and as she read it, her eyes filled with tears. Then she got up, walked across the room, and gave her mum a big hug. On the card was written these words: This rock is said to be more than two million years old—and that’s how long it will take before I give up on you!

Multiply that story a million times and you’ll get an idea of how much God loves you today! Listen, ‘“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet My unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor My covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord who has compassion on you.’ (Isaiah 54:10 NIV)

Nothing you’ve ever done has shocked Him for He knew what He was getting when He called you. And He knows something else too—He knows what you can and will be when His grace has done its work in your life. That’s why He’ll never give up on you. Why don’t you come to Him now?
